Dr Tim Clayton is an experienced consultant dermatologist specialising in both adult and paediatric dermatology. Born in Bury, North Manchester, he has worked as a consultant dermatologist since 2007 and has more than 20 years’ experience in dermatology.
From 1 October 2026, Dr Tim Clayton’s Dermexpert Clinic will be based at 125 Deansgate, Manchester, providing private consultant-led dermatology care in the heart of the city.
Dr Clayton was named by The Sunday Times as one of the UK’s leading children’s dermatologists and is currently President of the British Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Dermatology. He is fully accredited in both adult and paediatric dermatology and is on the GMC Specialist Register.
He regularly contributes to television programmes on the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 and continues to be involved in dermatology research, teaching and postgraduate education.
Dr Clayton sees patients privately on Tuesday mornings, Wednesdays and Fridays, offering assessment and treatment for a wide range of adult and childhood skin conditions.

The fee for self paying patients is £275 for a new consultation and £225 for a follow-up consultation. Dr Clayton usually requires a full pre-payment at the time of booking, this is to avoid non-attendance as appointments in his clinics are always in such high demand.
Dr Tim Clayton is recognised by all major health insurance companies including BUPA, WPA, Beneden, Exeter, BUPA inernational, AXA, Groupama, Aviva. Please provide Mandy with your membership number and authorisation code. Dr Clayton’s consulting suite is located in central Manchester and easily accessible by car or train and within walking distance of Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria Stations.
Dr Tim Clayton can undertake consultations, mole assessments, skin examinations, cryotherapy and minor dermatological procedures in his dermatology clinic. He also provides some cosmetic treatments including chemical peels.
